Sofia Balula Dias

Currently works as a postdoctoral research assistant at the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon (UL), Portugal. She embraced a PhD in Science Education, in the field of Analysis and Organization of Educational Systems, financed by a project grant awarded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, Portugal). More recently, she won a six-year FCT Postdoctoral grant for exploring blended, collaborative and affective learning processes in Higher Education environments (SFRH/BPD/96004/2013), a research collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). Moreover, her current participation/interest in European research projects focus on areas such as ICT and education, learning management systems, intelligent modelling of learning processes, and active/healthy ageing with ICT (FP7-ICT-2011-9-ICT-2011.8.2; H2020-PHC-2014-2015/H2020-PHC-2015). She initiated her Musical Studies in Classical Guitar at the Music Conservatory Dr. José Azeredo Perdigão (Viseu, Portugal) and finalized the 6th grade (1996-2002). Then, she started musical studies in Transverse Flute and currently she is second flutist in “Banda de Música Companhia Carris de Ferro de Lisboa” (Portugal), participating in more than 80 concerts (2009-present). Currently, she is improving her musical studies in Early Music field in Traverso and Basso continuo at the Escola de Música Nossa Senhora do Cabo (EMNSC, Lisboa, Portugal) (2015-present) and through private lessons; simultaneously, she is enrolled in the Creative World Music Course at the Lisbon Higher Education School for Arts & Technologies (ESTAL) (2017-present).
