Hugo Reis Rocha

Holds a degree in Graphic Design (2004, IFF, Brazil) and an MBA in Marketing (2011, UFF, Brazil). He is a Design professor in Brazil at Instituto Federal Fluminense since 2005, where he coordinated the Graphic Design undergraduate course from 2010 to 2015. He is Ph.D. Candidate at IADE-Universidade Europeia (Portugal) and Junior Researcher at UNIDCOM (IADE-UE).

Passionate about education and the power of change by design, his research focuses on design higher education for social impact and sustainable innovation. He has 15-years of experience in the design field and seeking new ways of learning and teaching impact-driven design.

Hugo is partner and founder of Vínculo Design Estratégico since 2007 where has participated in over one hundred design projects for many different clients and areas. From identity design to branding, from packaging to wayfinding, from editorial to UX/UI. Together with the design team, Hugo helped develop a proprietary methodology to approach projects more efficiently.

Since late 2018, Hugo co-produce the UnReleased, a Design Research Podcast part of the Ph.D. in Design program at IADE-UE, a series talk with Design specialists and researchers from all over the world to help map, broadcast and promote design research worldwide.
