Daniel Raposo

Daniel Raposo (PhD in Design) is communication designer and professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, works, mainly, in corporate identity area.
PhD in Design at Architecture Faculty from Lisbon Technical University with the Thesis "Typography as Corporate Identity sign", member of CIAUD - Center for Research in Architecture, Urban Planning and Design.
He is dedicated to design study since 1993, has a technical course in design by the Secondary School Nuno Alvares of Castelo Branco; a degree in Communication Design, Graphic Design and Advertising Variant (by ESTGP); a Master in Design, Materials and Product Management by the University of Aveiro, where he presented the dissertation entitled "Corporate Identity Management: from sign to code."
He lives in Castelo Branco where he teaches at the School of Applied Arts, Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco; from 2006 to 2010 he was director of the degree in Communication Design and Audiovisual Production and currently he is director of the Masters in Graphic Design ESART-IPCB in association with FAUTL and coordinator of Designn, Audiovisual and New Media department. Was responsible for the project "Rhythms of Weimar, " developed by ESART and Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Founder and member of the Technical and Professional Ethics of National Designers Association of which he was board member and President of the General Assembly. Represents Portugal in DirCom Euroamerican and DIB - Diseño Iberoamericano.
Editorial director of "Convergences – Research and Arts Education Journal" (http://convergencias.esart.ipcb.pt), member of several Scientific Boards such as the Mediterranean I+Diseño magazine edited in Malaga (Spain); Brand Trends Journal from Brand obeservatory belonging to the International Association of Branding Researchers; the Brazilian magazine "Graphic Education"published by UNESP; Revista Imagem edited by Faculdade da Serra Gaúcha (Brasil); and walik Design Magazine edited by Instituto Atenea in Bolivia. Member of the International Scientific Board of the Collection Franco Angeli "Culture del design" based in the Dipartimento IDEAS, Industrial Design, Environment, Seconda Università of Storia degli Studi di Napoli - Italy. Coordinator of the book collection "Design, Communication and Advertising" of Dinalivro Editions.
